I got the summertime blues
Preston Bailey
He is an absolute master, a don!
I am ashamed i've not made a mention of him earlier. The ultimate event planner and the ability to turn dry spaces into absolute masterpieces. Have a look at his website for inspiration. His work is on a very grande scale, something I'm not at yet! but his work can definitely inspire the humblest of weddings and events. I've said it a few times in previous posts, I love. WOOF!

Fake it to make it
I love a good bouquet of flowers BUT what if they're really not your bag? And your mother in law to be keeps asking you what flowers you'll be having on the tables?
Please her and please yourself with crafty flowers I say. The one made of material below look very tricky to make (featured on one of my fav blogs 100 layer cake) However the paper ones,I think look very cute and if you have kids or small nieces and nephews who love a bit of tissue paper, get them involved - Free labour!
For the record though, my favorite flower of the moment is the posie. I love posies

For the creative weddings to be
I love the etsy website, and so should you. They have the cutest and most original designers/crafts people who sell their pieces online.
Keep an eye in it or refer to for some inspiration. I highly recommend.

The Venue makes it
As I said yesterday, I got hold of a picture of the venue for Dave and Boo's wedding. Look how grand and amazing the walls are! No need to overdress the room with extensive decorations, you can't compete with the room
A few of my lovely friends so eloquently modeling as 'the winter wedding guests' - Thanks ever so!

Wedding 1 of 2010
I went to the first wedding of 2010 this weekend. It was the big day of two lovely people Dave and Boo, and I wish them all the happiest of times together.
It was a beautiful wedding and I loved every moment of it. The venue which was in Winchester was at St John's House, an extremely grand and beautiful building. I'm going to try and track down some piccies of the actual venue.
For now though here are a couple of shots of Bride and Groom
Boo's dress is stunning, she also wore an amazingly long veil, and I'm the biggest fan of veils - It made me blub.

This mother and daughter were the best dressed for the day. They had come all the way from Tokyo and were dressed in the traditional tea ceremony dress. Amazing

My favorite photo ever captured
If I could get hold of this print in a huge frame, I think i'd cry. It such a powerful picture of a bride and groom pre wedding but post earthquake in China. A huge natural disaster and a wedding disrupted by the church actually crumbling to pieces. Have a look at my fav one and just marvel the power of the earthquake that hit China in 2008 through the lens of the wedding photographer

Instead of a diamond
A crystal ring by Baccarat in either white or yellow would go down just swell as an engagement ring with a difference. I love rubies and this ring also comes in ruby red.
Love! xxxxxx

THE Proposal
I got this in an email that had been forwarded - It made my afternoon. I loved it - I don't know who they are but huge props the guy - very very good work there!
For those who don't know London, the proposal was set in Brixton, South London...Infact, i'll let the actual photographer tell the story...this is what was sent. Tissue ready - it's total cuteness, look at her face (blub blub)
"Back in December my brother-in-law called me up and asked if I wasn't busy whether I'd mind being in Brixton that coming Friday to take some photographs of him and his girlfriend Sarah on their way to work, and without her spotting me.
All he told me was that he'd arranged for the The Fridge nightclub and Ritzy cinema to display something special on their boards that morning.
The photos tell the rest the of the story. (Except that they didn't go to work that morning - he'd arranged a trip to Paris for the weekend instead)."
I got this in an email that had been forwarded then re-forwarded around the offices of London via office girls swooning at every picture. I read the email and welled up! The proposal is the day ladies do daydream about?, will he get down on one knee, will I say yes?, will we be on holiday when he does it?, will I blub like a baby?...

'O' Dita!
Dita Von Teese wears these Dior perfumes at $550 each, daily! They are such stunning bottles. Imagine these as the cutest vintage centre pieces amongst other goodies on your wedding tables..
ALSO wearing a perfume that will forever remind you of your wedding day is so important. A silent but scently touch! At the moment mine would be Tom Ford White Patchouli

Moss and Hince sitting in a tree..
..on Saturday, and he only goes and flipping proposes to her! Congratulations! (Doubt they read H&R blog)
I'm not a celeb wedding fan at all as most are normally vile and full of schaworski crystals but I can imagine Kate's to be a really good one. I wonder who has bagged the role of planning that one?.....

Apparently its jade that's the colour for 2010?
And of course I knew this! No lie - just look at the colour of the font on my blog..tsk! In future i'll publish my predictions sooner as otherwise I look like a sheep!
BUT I'm predicting that royal Blue, as seen in a previous blog in the form of Louboutins is the colour for all winter wedding in 2010/11 - You heard it here first! (Maybe?)
Lets start of January with a little from Mrs Wang
It is a slight cliché but I really do love and am inspired by Vera - Everything she does from design to brand extension to explaining the importance of the length of an isle at a wedding, has such true understanding and method that i'm really touched by. She knows what's good and totally gets tradition and also the modernity that weddings are shaped by today. Her approach to all things wedding is effortlessly genuis!
Just a few Vera Wang gowns from her Spring 2010 collection and a note on each of them...
White gown - Ultra classic, delicate and feminine. I think a white dress can look stark if worn in the wrong environment or even season but if you get it right its such a powerful statement.
Citrus gown - I am and i'm sure everyone else is seeing the traditional wedding colour palette slip every now and again for colours such as this citrus themed gown. I love it, the layering and would be such a divine kick of colour to a late spring/early summer wedding. Citrus is also a great colour themes for wedding receptions. The colours pop so well against a plain backdrop or stone walls.
Black gown - I have mentioned black a few posts back and I do mean to go on about it! Firstly lets get the stunning organza style layers, sweetheart neck line out the way - Beautiful. This design tones down any harshness the black might have. I really am digging it - And I dont mean black should be used in a goth sense along with black nail varnish and neon pink ribbons to boot, NO! But a black dress in the right style as this one, I think, is dramatically stunning.
Thanks Vera
